Who are we?

We are people who care passionately about the Sussex countryside. We work hard to ensure it is protected and enhanced for the benefit of everyone. Our work has been influential in preventing unnecessary urban sprawl across much of Sussex. We have a diverse and beautiful countryside which is an essential resource that needs careful management.

The diversity of landscape across Sussex was recognised by Kipling in his three part song:

I'm just in love with all these three,
The Weald an' the Marsh an' the Down countrie;
Nor I don't know which I love the most'
The Weald or the Marsh or the white chalk coast!

We are fortunate to have a varied landscape in Sussex. We are keen to preserve it into the future for everyone.
