Campaigns

Our campaigns are many and diverse, responding to both national and local issues.

Applications for 2300 new homes on greenfield sites at Polegate, East Sussex were refused by Wealden District Council following a successful campaign led by CPRE Sussex, Wealden South District.

We still await a decision on the South Downs National Park application.

Our recent Farming Futures questionnaire gave us a valuable insight into how farming is changing in Sussex.

The successful Night Blight campaign resulted in new legislation. Under this legislation (April 2006) intrusive lighting is a statutory nuisance. Help us to tackle 'Night Blight'.

We continue to keep a watching brief on proposals for Gatwick.

We will work to protect, enhance and reclaim tranquillity in Sussex, by resisting inappropriate development and influencing local planning policy.
