The Sussex Review is the newsletter of the Sussex Branch. It is free to members and comes out three times a year in February, June and October.

The Review gives details of the Sussex Branch Office: address, telephone/fax number, email address, staff, hours of opening and membership subscription rates. It also provides the names of all Office Holders of the Branch and all Specialist Advisers and Volunteers. The District Chairmen, together with names and addresses, are listed under the section of the Review entitled 'Around the Districts'. This gives news of local district matters, issues currently being dealt with and arrangements for meetings, etc.

In each edition of the Review the articles and comments seek to address current issues of concern to members. Limited space entails a certain amount of selection but over a year it is hoped that areas covered will include housing, planning and development, transport, agriculture, waste, minerals and aviation. Government guidelines, directives and initiatives are highlighted or summarised and members are offered guidance on how to respond to matters of immediate concern. Reports on Consultations and Inquiries keep members abreast of how particular matters are proceeding, particularly when they have vanished from the newspaper headlines but are still unresolved.

On a lighter note details are given of outings and visits for Branch members. These play a vital part in enabling members to meet on an occasional basis and to share together their concerns for the countryside. Book reviews are also included where relevant.

The Sussex Review is now available for download. See right hand column.
