1 & 3 March: Help plant a community orchard in Happy Valley Park, Brighton
Join the Brighton Parks Project planting team and help plant community orchards working with the Brighton Permaculture Trust
Be part of something BIG! We’ve been asked to plant a community orchard, and with 15 fruit and nut trees to plant we’ve got our work cut out!
Community orchards are a vital part of the puzzle for future-proofing our cities. We’re going to need them to help provide shade in the summer to lower temperatures, draw up excess rainwater to prevent flooding and even provide us with local, zero miles healthy food. Not to mention providing a beautiful space to spend time in.
We’re joining forces with the Brighton Permaculture Trust and working in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council’s Tree Planting Team. The Council will be adding canopy trees nearby in the park to complement this project and bring further benefits to the amazing spaces.
Why not join our partners and friends and get involved – they would love your help.
