Appeal refused – Flood risk wins the day!
A recent planning application was made on the Manhold Peninsula at Stubcroft Farm, Stubcroft Lane, East Wittering, Chichester, West Sussex PO20 8PJ.
Another small but important win to protect vital farmland, nature and habitat! Dr Jill Sutcliffe, representing CPRE Sussex and the Manhood Peninsula Wildlife & Heritage Group and working alongside local people, celebrates this important appeal refusal.
Jill has kept a close eye on this application objecting and responding throughout from application to appeal and attended and spoke at the Public Inquiry.
Jill’s concerns included location and context, climate change, sea level rise, environmental and biodiversity issues BUT flood risk won the day! After many weeks, the Inspector refused the application, a decision much celebrated by the local community.
Jill will continue to keep watch!
