CPRE calls for a better deal for farmers

We’re backing farmers to do the critical jobs of food production, nature enhancement and landscape protection.

It’s incredibly tough out there for so many farmers, especially with extreme weather this year.

Alongside 40 leading environmental organisations, CPRE has written to the Secretary of State for the Environment at Defra calling for big changes to reward sustainable farming properly.

That means taking on the power of the big food retailers, who leave farmers with too little – and increasing the nature-friendly farming budget to ensure that doing the right thing for climate, nature and water provides fair rewards.
