CPRE’s ‘On the Edge’ garden wins ‘Best in Show’ at RHS Chelsea Flower Show
The garden highlights the countryside at the edges of our towns and cities.
In our centenary year CPRE’s ‘On the Edge’ garden has won a Gold medal and ‘Best in Show’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show!
The garden was designed by Sarah Eberle and funded by Project Giving Back.
Features of the garden, which is set on an imagined area of land on the urban fringe, include a fallen tree sculpted into a guardian figure (Gaia or Mother Nature). Her hair, made of willow, flows across the top of a dry-stone wall snaking through the naturalistic landscape.
In highlighting the countryside at the edges of our towns and cities, the garden shows how, with the right care, these places can recover and thrive.
