Housing minister dismisses appeal for Brighton Marina development

The appeal was for 1000 homes plus commercial development.

The housing minister dismissed the appeal on the grounds that the scheme did not accord with the development plan; had ‘shortcomings in terms of design’ and would ‘fail to provide acceptable living conditions for its residents’. The minister also raised concerns about the effect of the development on the setting of the South Downs National Park.
