CPRE Sussex Tree Festival 2026 photo competition is now open

The Tree Festival Photographic Competition, titled “I Love This Tree Because…”, invites people across Sussex to celebrate the trees they love through photography.

The competition is part of CPRE Sussex’s annual Tree Festival, which highlights the importance, beauty and diversity of trees across Sussex.

Organisers are looking for photographs that capture a meaningful moment with a tree – something that inspires, informs or simply makes people smile.

Entries could show a dramatic landscape tree, a hidden woodland gem, a favourite climbing tree from childhood, or the tree that brightens your daily walk. Whether you are an experienced photographer or simply enjoy taking pictures on your phone, everyone is welcome to take part.

Alongside a photograph, entrants are invited to complete the sentence “I love this tree because…” and share why the tree is special to them.
