Tree Festival 2026 starts this weekend!

Sussex-wide celebration of the trees returns with another fantastic programme of events.

A celebration of Sussex trees officially begins this week.

The main programme for this year’s Sussex Tree Festival starts on Friday (May 23) with a guided walk around Daylands Farm, Horsham.

The programme continues on Sunday with a family-friendly Tribute to the Trees in Preston Park, Brighton.

Led by author and presenter Rev Peter Owen Jones, the tribute will include music, poetry, singing and a tree hunt.

There will also be the chance to make a crown or garland and wear it for a fabulous children’s parade.

The celebrations continue next week with Art in the Park in Hastings, storytelling in Bedelands Nature Reserve, Burgess Hill and a Forest School session in Steyning.

Looking further ahead, there are guided walks in Worthing, Arundel and Washington, plus more family-friendly events and a Treebourne birthday party in Eastbourne.

There are also ongoing exhibitions at Worthing Museum and Hastings Museum and Art Gallery.

The Tree Festival 2026 is organised by CPRE Sussex, volunteers and local groups. It is sponsored by Rampion Offshore Wind and Bartlett Tree Experts.

The main festival programme runs until 7 June. View the full programme here.
