Please write to your MP about proposed airspace changes

21st July 2026

Sussex residents call for an independent ombudsman to oversee changes to airspace.

CPRE Sussex joins community and environmental groups in asking residents to contact their Member of Parliament about proposed changes to UK airspace. They warn that concentrated or newly created flight paths could affect homes, rural areas, health, sleep and quality of life.

The concern follows the Civil Aviation (Consumer Protection and Regulatory Reform) Bill, which includes provisions on airspace change and would give the Civil Aviation Authority expanded rule-making powers. Campaigners say residents must have a clear, independent route to challenge decisions that affect their communities.

What to ask your MP

Please ask your MP to support stronger safeguards for communities affected by airspace change, including an independent airspace change outside the Civil Aviation Authority as the Bill progresses through the House of Commons.

How to take part

Find your MP using the UK Parliament’s Find MPs service and write using your full name and address.

Please write to your MP now and ask them to stand up for communities and countryside that could be affected by airspace change, supporting the national call for an independent ombudsman outside of the CAA.
