Proposed solar photovoltaic farm would have significant landscape impact
Application DC/23/2172 is for construction and operation of a solar photovoltaic farm and associated infrastructure at Street Record, Burnt House Lane, Cowfold, West Sussex
The associated infrastructure includes transformers, inverters, DNO Substation, customer switchgear, security cameras, fencing, access tracks and landscaping.
CPRE Sussex asks that the application be refused for numerous reasons.
The reasons include the 74.4ha rural site having a locally distinctive landscape character of medium to high value; lack of acknowledgement of the value of the 45 hedgerows on the site providing landscape-scale connectivity and making an immense contribution to halting biodiversity decline and tackling climate change; and the application being based on indicative not actual plans.
