Report roadside advertising signs

CPRE Sussex has urged people to report roadside advertising signs which may have been put up without planning permission.

Director Brian Kilkelly was asked to comment on the issue by the BBC after reports advertising signs may have been put up along the M23 without planning consent.

“It really does distract and affects the enjoyment of what we see around the countryside with these hoardings popping up everywhere,” said Brian.

“Councils sometimes turn a blind eye because they haven’t got the resources to enforce the law.

“Sometimes they won’t act until there are a number of complaints.”
