Explore Brighton’s newest nature reserve with ranger Paul Gorringe. Join us up on the Downs to discover why trees are important in a landscape dominated by ancient grassland habitats.

Meet at Waterhall Nature Reserve (ex golf course), Saddlescombe Road, BN45 7DB. Refreshments included. Getting there: bus numbers 27 or 77. There is also cycle and car parking at the club house. Full directions below

By Car:
From the A27 westbound Brighton bypass: exit the bypass at the main Hove roundabout, turn right and go across both roundabouts and onto Devil’s Dyke Rd, stay on the main road and drive past the Devil’s Dyke fork, take the next right (about 400m on) into Waterhall, drive down the access road to the car park.
From the A27 bypass eastbound: exit at the main Hove, turn left onto Devil’s Dyke Rd, stay on the main road and drive past the Devil’s Dyke fork, take the next right (about 400m on) into Waterhall, drive down the access road to the car park

By Bus:
Bus 77 Brighton Breeze stops at Dyke Approach car park at the fork of Sadlescombe Rd and Devil’s Dyke Rd, then cross Saddlescombe Rd and enter Waterhall pony field through the gate, walk north east parallel to the main road, exit the gate at the end and enter the main Waterhall gate, then just a short walk down the tarmac access road to the clubhouse.
