Give your views on England tree strategy

30th July 2020

Defra is seeking views on how to increase tree planting and tree and woodland management in England.

The government is encouraging people to give their views on four key areas:

  • expanding woodlands and tree cover on public and private land;
  • protecting and improving our trees and woodlands;
  • engaging people with trees and woodland;
  • supporting the economy through an increased role for trees and woodlands.

Your views will help the government to design a strategy that increases and balances the different benefits that our woodlands provide, to nature, to people, and to the economy.

The consultation opened on 19 June 2020 and under current plans will close on 11 September 2020.
